Young Fathers of Central Florida accepted the toys and allowed fathers and their children in need come and have a great Christmas.

Remember your first time being a father? As the new baby comes, your life is filled with anxiety and worry. Will I be a good father? Will I be able to support the child? Will I break it?
Across our community, new fathers struggle with this every day. Now imagine being a father with no support structure, a father who may not have had a strong male influence in their lives, a father with no one to ask simple questions.
For many fathers, this is a way of life. For many, the pressure of fatherhood is too much; they run from their responsibilities and continue a cycle of broken families and lack of male influence.
Young Fathers of Central Florida is here to help those fathers. Targeting young men under the age of 21, the 501(c)(3) is geared to give any young father the skills and confidence they need to provide a lifetime of love and caring for their children.
The organization – the ONLY one providing services for young fathers in Central Florida – provides counseling, workshops and mentoring in basic parenting skills. It also provides a place where young fathers can get the answers they need – from how to child-proof a home to how to avoid shaken-baby syndrome.

November Last month, D&G General Contracting Co. opened its doors to assist Debbie Turner establish a new non-profit for the Apopka area, the Debbie Turner Cancer Care Resource Center. The company has donated office space, furniture, computer, e-mail service and phone service as Debbie works to launch the new center in January. "They have stepped out of their box to support someone they believe in," Turner says. Once operational, the center will provide nearly every service a cancer patient and their families might need from support groups to transportation. The center will be focused on serving only the Apopka area. "We had an open office space and saw a need in the community," says Rodney Douglas, co-owner and vice president of D&G General Contracting Co. "Cancer is a horrible disease and Debbie has a proven track record of helping others work through the issues of the disease."
October This month, we'd like you to know about the Boy Scouts of Central Florida's annual Clay Shoot.
