The Year in Review

January: D&G General Contracting Co. started 2009 off with a bang as we were named by the U.S. Local Business Association as the “Best of Local Business in Apopka” in the contractor and remodeling category.

February: We completed the remodel of the InCharge facility in February 2009. This project was a 3,000 square foot interior renovation of a data center and included putting in elevated flooring, two new air conditioning systems and a back up electrical system.

March: Another large project was completed as we helped open the Lake Nona branch of McCoy Federal Credit Union. Over the years, we’ve designed and built a significant number of facilities for this financial institution.

April: D&G General Contracting Co. is proud to support the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce and one of our favorites is providing models for the annual fashion show. D&G had three models this year: Ken Graves, Mildred Artau and April Phillips.

May: We’re proud of our building and how it looks. We’re also proud the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce thought it was deserving of its monthly beautification award.

June: Because of its location, the Old Florida National Bank building in Apopka is one of our highest profile projects in our hometown. We were very excited to see the bank featured in the Apopka Chief during June.

July: Another great project was completed this month as we closed out the interior renovation of the 1 South Orange Ave. building. This was an extremely complicated renovation as the building was constructed in 1913 and listed as a historical building.

August: D&G General Contracting Co. has a long history of working with financial institutions. In August, we started working on the roof replacement and lobby renovation of the signature Federal Trust building in downtown Sanford. The project was particularly complicated because we needed to reroute the power and cabling for multiple communication towers on the roof.

September: As the seasons started to change, the branding of D&G General Contracting Co. started to change as well. We started our new newsletter and unveiled our brand new Website.

October: Perhaps one of D&G General Contracting Co.’s greatest accomplishments was being named the Best Commercial Contractor in Central Florida by the readers of Orlando Business Journal.

November: D&G General Contracting Co. enjoys working in the detail-oriented space of healthcare where a slightest slip in safety and caution can lead to big issues. That’s why we were excited to be selected for two multi-phased projects with Devereaux.
