Meet the D&G General Contracting team

D&G General Contracting Co. was formed in 1998 when Ken Graves and Rodney Douglas started working together to provide great design and construction services, while ensuring their customers had a memorable experience during and after the project. We're proud of our group and we're sure you will enjoy getting to know each member of our staff.

Kenneth Graves - Owner
Kenneth Graves moved to Orlando Florida with his family in 1960. His start in construction was in the flooring business in 1974 doing sales and installation of all types of flooring with track homes. He later moved on to manage larger projects for major hotels chains and many hospitals throughout Florida. In 1997, Ken had the great fortune to team up with Rodney Douglas and together, they did several commercial projects. In 1998, they incorporated and D&G General Contracting was born. With nearly 35 years experience in all areas of the business, Ken is able to provide first hand knowledge and advice to all of our clients projects. In his spare time, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife, family and close friends. He enjoys visiting theme parks and collecting antiques.

Rodney Douglas - Owner
Rodney Douglas has 35 years of “hands on” experience in the construction industry and is a State Certified General Contractor. Rodney’s construction experiences includes supervising and working on projects such as the Spaceship Earth, France, Mexico, Japan, American Adventure, Land, transportation, and other pavilions at Disney’s Epcot Center. Unique construction techniques used on these projects enhanced Rod’s knowledge and opened his imagination to the uncommon. Rodney’s philosophy is no one person does it alone, and that philosophy carries through in his business. Motorcycling is Rodney’s passion when it comes to off work activities. At the age of 14, Rodney got his first motorcycle and has been riding ever since.

Kenny Graves - Project Manager
In 1994 Kenny graduated from Deland High School, in Deland, Fl. then followed in his father’s footsteps becoming well versed in all aspects of the Construction Industry. In 2000 Kenny decided to join his Father Kenneth L. Graves and became part of the D&G Team. He worked his way up from the bottom to become the Senior Project Manager and Estimator. In his spare time, he enjoys taking his family out on the boat and fishing.

Dick Ellis - Project Consultant
Dick Ellis has been a Project Consultant with D&G General Contracting since 2005. His experience includes 25 years in residential and commercial electrical consulting. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Administration. Dick grew up in Central Florida, has been married for almost 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoys golf and fishing.

 Mildred Artau - Office Manager
Mildred Artau has been the bookkeeper and office manager at D&G General Contracting since 2000. Her background includes Radio & TV Producer in advertising, voice over announcer, sales and accounting. Her hobbies are acting and singing and her passion is to paint on different types of canvas, including painting originals on T-shirts. She also helps with her sisters business which is dedicated to promoting culture through the arts.
